ecologically informed species range maps from sparse
observations using environmental clustering and convex hulls.
Serves as a standalone framework or complementary approach to
Species Distribution Models (SDMs). By constraining estimated
ranges within authoritative or custom ecoregion boundaries, the
approach prevents spurious range over-prediction common in
geometric hull methods. The package automates data acquisition
via 'GBIF' synonym-aware, tiled downloads; curates records
using 13 configurable filters; and supports multi-scale
analysis by integrating global or user-provided spatial layers.
Also includes disk-based batch processing for large-scale
studies and built-in tools for cross-validation and
expert-derived evaluations.</description><link>https://github.com/r-universe/8ginette8/actions/runs/37765976661</link><pubDate>Tue, 08 Sep 2026 06:41:20 GMT</pubDate><r:package>gbif.range</r:package><r:version>1.9.2</r:version><r:status>success</r:status><r:repository>https://8ginette8.r-universe.dev</r:repository><r:upstream>https://github.com/8ginette8/gbif.range</r:upstream><r:article><r:source>getting-started.Rmd</r:source><r:filename>getting-started.html</r:filename><r:title>Part 0: Getting Started</r:title><r:created>2026-06-23 09:27:06</r:created><r:modified>2026-08-13 01:41:56</r:modified></r:article><r:article><r:source>gbif-retrieval-and-taxonomy.Rmd</r:source><r:filename>gbif-retrieval-and-taxonomy.html</r:filename><r:title>Part 1: GBIF Retrieval, Taxonomy, and Filtering</r:title><r:created>2026-03-25 20:56:03</r:created><r:modified>2026-07-30 14:05:24</r:modified></r:article><r:article><r:source>ecoregion-constrained-range-inference.Rmd</r:source><r:filename>ecoregion-constrained-range-inference.html</r:filename><r:title>Part 2: Ecoregion-Based Range Inference</r:title><r:created>2026-03-25 20:56:03</r:created><r:modified>2026-07-30 14:05:24</r:modified></r:article><r:article><r:source>large-downloaded-gbif-tables.Rmd</r:source><r:filename>large-downloaded-gbif-tables.html</r:filename><r:title>Part 3: Large Downloaded GBIF Tables</r:title><r:created>2026-03-25 20:56:03</r:created><r:modified>2026-07-31 05:00:28</r:modified></r:article><r:article><r:source>reproducing-manuscript-figures.Rmd</r:source><r:filename>reproducing-manuscript-figures.html</r:filename><r:title>Supplementary: manuscript figures</r:title><r:created>2026-07-23 11:01:09</r:created><r:modified>2026-07-30 14:05:24</r:modified></r:article></item></channel></rss>
